Are they going to put up a banner for the 1917 Stanley Cup Champs? They need to beat the Avs to the punch.

It makes sense for Seattle to start play in the 2021 season in order to avoid the lockout that will delay the start of the 2020 season.

Would have allowed them to get the arena finished on time at least.

I wonder how much of an impact this will have on the Everett Silvertips and Seattle Thunderbirds of the WHL - Certainly a different price point as far as tickets are concerned.

So do we think the NHL holds steady at 32 for a while, or is the prospect of another $650M+ in expansion fees getting the owners too excited already?

I read that because AZ doesn't do daylight savings, they will wind up having division games (including playoff games) that start at 5pm local time.

I think Gary's finally given up and is trying to nudge ownership to move them to Houston. That is just absurd.

This is Bettman's legacy, get to 32 teams, balance the conferences and line the owners pockets. As much as I hate to admit it, he's done a pretty good job in that regard.

/Of course, he's also had more work stoppages than all three of the other major sports leagues combined during his tenure.

Yup, they've been bleeding money in the desert for years now. Get ready for the Houston Aeros.

I’ve wondered that too. Might give them a boost because people will be into hockey and they’re a way more affordable (and available) night out. On the other hand, the loyal fans they have will now have an NHL team to put their time and money towards.

I know people can't make it all the way to Glendale by 7, but maybe to their couches by 5 is OK?

Since the East had to compete with more teams for several years I think the Seattle franchise should be chosen entirely from Western Conference teams. And the whiny bitch boys from Detroit.

Who's with me?!?!

I am hearing from my sources that the team name may be the Marmots.
