As much as like Rust I can't justify paying him near Guentzel money. That contract will hurt them in the short and long-term.

Letang is trending and almost all the comments are that the Penguins can't find a replacement for Letang. I guess NONE of those people watched him play this season or in the playoffs?

Just logging a lot of minutes vs logging quality minutes are two different things. Hell JMFJ could be left on the ice for over 30 minutes a game, doesn't mean he is good.

I believe it, and TBH it's probably the right call. I'd offer Geno maybe $6m tops for 3 and that would be it so as an opening offer that would sound legit.

Guy is still good but he's 36 and always hurt. The Pens have the cap space to add, have their first round pick, still have Sid and Guentzel and Jarry, and there's a fair number of good options available both UFA and in trade this offseason.

Team icon and all that but if I'm them I just wanna win while you still can. They could trade for Schiefele, sign Gaudreau or Forsberg and go bargain hunting for D-help like they always do (or trade for Muzzin?) and they're better off than hoping Malkin holds up for another two years while eating up $8 mil in cap.

Ehhh Rob Rossi is there for clicks/views only. With that said I wouldn't doubt the low ball offer was made. Heck I would to start the negotiations. like that since both are older, hurt a lot and neither seems to stay focused 100% of the time.

Let me also add with Letang the past three post seasons if he plays exactly 25 minutes or less the Penguins are 3-0.

You could argue he plays less with larger leads, but only one of those games wasn't close. It is a small sample size but there isn't much to go on, not like this team has been winning much recently.
