Who am I kidding the Penguins will somehow be two points out of a playoff spot near the trade deadline and trade every draft pick away and have no chance of getting a decent player.

Yeah, here in Calgary, it appears that Conroy does have a plan and is looking to ship out the vets. Kuzmenko and Mantha should be traded on or before the trade deadline and if he gets a nice package for Rasmus Andersson, he needs to move him as well.

/Blake Coleman too

Must be nice to have a competent GM.

I think he realizes what needs to be done and yeah, it's going to be painful for the next couple of years, but you see guys like Parekh, Basha, Bruz and Misa doing some good things in junior and if these guys can make the jump to the NHL, the Flames might have something just in time for the new arena to open.

Future sounds bright. As a Penguins fan it is bleak here but it’s hard to complain too much considering they won 3 cups in the past 15 years.

That is the whole polishing the turd aspect of this team. Keep up the false hope they will be "good" with Crosby/Malkin and Letang.

It will be a good decade or more between the time Crosby is gone and their next star player comes along. We are going back to the Kraft, Fata and Koltsov (RIP) years. Hard to believe how bad that was thinking players like Tomas Surovy and Ramzi Adib were competent NHL wingers. :L

Like all our Sports teams, the City and everything about Pittsburgh. We get to live in the past.

There are people in the south hills who still have these hairdos and drive around in their 89 camaro.

I don't think Dumbass is bad. I think the issue is this awful circumstance and he isn't allowed to detach from certain things. If he traded Crosby he would become the most hated person in Pittsburgh even though it would almost guarantee a quicker rebuild.
Malkin could leave without as much hatred but he is done after next year so not sure the haul will be as good.

And thanks to Hextall they are fucked with Letang forever. :L

NOTE: If he gives Marcus Pettersson a long term extension he will go way down on my list. He is getting exposed this year for what he really is, a tall, slow, and weak d-man.

Of course, if the league does decide to expand and also brings back compliance buyouts, that could help out both the Pens and Flames lol

No joke, a convenience store I go into every once in a while to buy some lottery tickets has a customer who has hair just like that guy in the bottom picture but he wears a hat to cover it up. The thing is it’s one of those see-through mesh trucker hats so you can see he’s totally bald on top but has the rest of his hair pulled into a ponytail that comes out of the back of the hat where it snaps together

Hopefully they don't put a cap on it. If so the Penguins are still screwed.

I can see the possibility of at least 5 players: Rust, Rakell, Letang, Graves and Jarry. It would be 6 but not sure if they would allow Karlsson as his contract is being partially paid by the Sharks.

Whereas the Flames I bet would be very happy to rid themselves of Kadri and Huberdeau.

I scanned the guide on my tv looking for something truly frightening to watch on this Halloween night, and I found it. The Penguin Game.

Dostal is very good this year. Pens should trade for Gibson it appears.

Tied with the Ducks late in the third. Yep a 2-1 loss with 10 seconds left.

Since Rakell is actually scoring this year, I could see the team finding a way to turn things around. Sid's got to find his game (and it looks like he's starting to), and the defense needs to figure things out, but the bottom six and powerplay seem to be improved over last year.

Not sure what path the defense has to improve, though, Pettersson seems to be slightly figuring his game back out, though he's still not the anchor they were counting on.
