I saw the video...it's an unfortunate accident but it could be seen as Cruz' own fault. He ran at the catcher (on the infield side of the line) and did a shitty "slide."

Dude yelled the instant the play happened because he most likely thought Cruz was trying to take him out...didn't know he was injured

^yeah that was a stupid slide by Cruz. Still not sure all the melee was necessary and even then no one was ejected.

All of this overshadowed the fact that the Pirates were 2-hit and still won.
