As discussed in the article, he's probably worn out from playing a lot more games than he's used to (don't they usually play about 45 games in a NCAA season?) and Edmonton's travel is amongst the worst in the league. That said, he does need some work on his defensive game.

I actually have to give Yakupov some credit, he played pretty balls out last night (even backchecking hard to break up a couple of Hawks rushes). I still think he's a jerk, mind you.

Yeah, but I'm willing to give him a pass this season as growing pains (they mentioned he was playing his 79th game of the season last night). All part of the process of becoming a professional in the NHL.

Clarkson is exactly the type of player the Oilers need to target up front. Funny thing is they had a couple of guys in the Clarkson mold (Glencross and Brodziak) and they let 'em go.
