Now the biggest question is do they draft him in the first round next year?

The Oilers should've went big and signed McDavid.

Fasth should have just come out of his crease and jumped Bones - that would be the only way to get the point across to his team.

Vlad Tkachev an Edmont....uhh I mean 2015 prospect, with a 4 point game in his first back with Moncton.

Good thing the Oilers will have a high draft pick again next year.

Recent MacT interview:

When asked what elements are needed on this team to give meaningful games in March that haven't been there for several years: "Well, you're underestimating the quality of our fans, because I think the educated fan base would say there's a lot of reason for optimism now..."

Actually MacT, the educated fan base has moved on, it's the blind sheeple that you are pandering to.

So, after all these years of re-building, this is the Oilers centre depth to start the upcoming season:

RNH
Draisaitl
Gordon
Acton
Arcobello

I think 90% of the posters on this board could have assembled better depth down the middle than the Oilers brain trust.

To have meaningful games in March you need to have meaningful games in December, January and February first. That's the Oilers problem - they see a pipe dream and just want to get to March without working for the first four plus months of the season.

I'd trade the Leafs' centres for 'em

RNH>Bozak
Draisaitl<<Kadri
Gordon< Santorelli (pretty close to a tossup)
Acton < Holland
Arcobello > ???? Not sure who will slot in here.

I'd PROBABLY go with the Leafs on this one just because they have two guys who can legitimately be called top 6 forwards in that group (ie. they've played that role recently with some success).

Strength up the middle is not a hallmark of either team this year but the Leafs' depth is better than the Coil, IMO.

I'd pair Kadri and RNH and Bozak and Draisaitl, comparison should be done by actual ability rather than usage. And I bet Draisaitl could ride Kessel's coattails pretty comfortably even now, let alone when he's not a teenager.

You need a #1 centre (or more than one) to win in this league. I'd rather have RNH and Draisaitl and figure out the rest than have the Leafs "depth".
