Just what they need, another soft player who can’t score lol

You know, say what you will about Darnell Nurse, but Hyman took a pretty big hit last night in the game versus the Habs that was borderline late and there was no response from the Oilers. Something is certainly amiss with that team, not a cohesive group currently.

In this day and age there is not much use for goons but if one team could use a tough guy who actually knows his role it's the Oilers. They could use a tough guy who knows when to send a message that their insanely high end star players are off limits.

Two former Sens come to mind. 1) Chris Neil who could actually play and take a regular shift but who when needed would police cheap shots. And 2) Matt Carkner. He sucked but was so unpredictable and would go after anyone who went for his star teammates. His unstable behaviour was actually kind of a deterrent.

Either of those types of players would work for the Oil. They don't even need to worry about a regular shift with all the double shifting of 9729.

As you pointed out they don't seem to have anyone willing to do that outside of their $9.5M defenseman (LOL).

I don't even think the Oilers need a goon per se, heck I saw Mattias Janmark stepping up last season when an opposing player was taking liberties with an Oilers player. Hyman is having a bad start to the season, but he's still one of the best forwards on the Oil.

/Oilers have been shutout three times already this season, let's go Sens lol
