Actually, it was a pretty hard hit from Brayden McNabb - I thought it was a shoulder separation when I first saw it.

The above might explain McDavid's mystery illness which appears returned once again last night.

So, to get to 96 points which should be relatively safe to make the playoffs, the Oilers would have to go something like 24-7-3 in their remaining 34 games. To steal a line from Tiger Williams, "They're done like dinner".

And with Torts flaming out in Columbus, a coaching swap may be in order.

I don't see how you bring back McLellan after this season and some of the bad losses, especially at home. I'm no fan of Maroon, but his name is swirling in trade rumo(u)rs and he's been much better than Lucic this season. Of course, he doesn't have that boat anchor of a contract that Lucic has.

This shit falls far more on Chia than Todd.

Having said that, I'm sure Todd has a lot of input on who he likes/doesn't like and therefore has his fair share of the blame.

Agreed with the bolded - You could even say that Todd's fate is likely directly linked to Chia.

I think Todd McLellan is a solid coach, but Scotty Bowman wouldn't be successful in an organization so tolerant of mediocrity.

I'd welcome McLellan. In fact, they SHOULD have fired Richards and hired him before the 8 game loss streak where Torts was all that was available.

Oilers’ sense of entitlement remains even after drubbing by Sabres

“It was pretty clear,” began Milan Lucic, both the spokesman for and lead example of a team that simply didn’t put in a National Hockey League effort Tuesday night. “I don’t think we had enough respect for this [Buffalo] hockey team. That’s what happens when you aren’t ready to play the other team, no matter who they are or where they are in the standings.

“You can’t afford to lose games — no disrespect to them — against teams like this,” he continued. “Where you should have two points at least in the season series, and we come up with zero against them. It just goes to show why we are where we are.”

Somebody needs to tell Lucic that the Oilers are "teams like this".
