Pretty surprised Chiarelli took to Edmonton so quickly. Chiarelli must've done one hell of a sales pitch - Pete could've had another 2 or 3 options this time next week, and even more a few weeks later.

Not that I had high expectations that even Edmonton was dumb enough to pass on McDavid first overall, but I was holding out hope.

I could see them being the highest ranked team to miss the POs next year and somehow still get 1st overall with a 1% chance.

I don't think they'll be a playoff team either, but...let's just believe they won't get the 1st pick. Or 2nd or 3rd (which all teams will be eligible for next year).
