^It was actually kind of funny to watch the progression. The Jackets kept bringing them gear before the game. The first shot of them from warmups, mom was wearing a black turtleneck, dad was wearing his team Canada jersey, Sis was in a Moose Jaw hoodie and Brother in the red hoodie was in a Team Canada T-shirt. The "22" kid was in a Jackets hoodie at first, but wound up with that at some point. I think mom had that at first, it's his draft jersey. First they went and got Denton's red hoodie. Then the shirt for sis. By the time the game started and the fam was interviewed, they had the jerseys.

A team source confirmed to The Athletic this week that the Blue Jackets asked Tarasov to head to AHL Cleveland on a conditioning assignment as a way to get his game back together. Those assignments, which do not require a player to clear waivers, can last up to two weeks, or they can be as short as one start.

Tarasov refused the assignment, which is well within his rights per the collective bargaining agreement between the NHL and NHL Players’ Association.

My team had a game tonight, and on the other rink there was another high school game going on. That game featured two of my former goalie students who left our club to play for their high schools. The game ended in a 0-0 tie.

One of the goalies noticed me and had me come out on the ice for a picture with them after the game. Just so happened to be the one that my wife taught in Kindergarten, so he took a picture with her too.



My team won our game 7-1. One of my newer goalie prospects' first high school win. Good night for the soul. And a boost to the old ego.
