I hope it's so Calvert can sit. He's been awful.

Bjorkstrand returned to practice tonight. So we got that going for us. Which is nice. No word or Werenski though other than nothing is broken.

Every time I see the name Sonny Milano, it makes me think of this guy (same initials)

I thought he was "day to day". While still vague, it gives a little optimism that he'll be good to go in a week.

He is officially listed as "day to day" so they don't have to list him on Injured Reserve. Werenski will probably not play another game in the regular season. Maybe the last one against TO so he can shake the rust off. Let him rest, don't need him hurt. Tonight's game matters, but after that, I'd say let Jones, Bob and Savard rest up too.

Murray was listed as "day to day" with his broken hand, and the recovery time was 4-6 weeks. 4 weeks puts him back at the start of the first round.

Columbus youth hockey update:

Jets recall Connor and Roslovic

Jack Roslovic, homegrown Columbus kid could make his NHL debut tonight. If he is scratched tonight, he will make his debut at "home" on Thursday. That will be a huge deal. Never met him, but his dad is pretty involved in local youth hockey and a really nice guy. They live a few miles from me.

Will be the 3rd from the Columbus Youth hockey program to play in the NHL, and the second that isn't the child of a former Blue Jacket to come from here and make the show.

Connor Murphy (Son of Gord)
Jack Roslovic (Jets)
Sean Kuraly (Broons)

Cole Cassels (Son of Andrew) would be 4th if the Vancouver Canucks ever played young players.

Jackets assign Kole Sherwood to Cleveland Monsters

Another kid just got signed and sent to the AHL. Him, I've met. He was a shooter at a goalie camp my son went to.

So, last season I was really upset about the Johansen trade. I thought it was the coach just picking on a guy without basis (and I still think that) and that Jarmo was a moron for letting a 6'4" center who is only 23 go. Even if the return is a steady giant D man like Seth Jones. I thought that Johansen was too valuable. Too rare a commodity.

In the pre-game I saw that Johansen finished the season with 14 goals and 47 assists in Smashville.

So I looked it up. Alex Wennberg (Who is 6' 3" and 21 yeard old) had 13 and 46.

Maybe the Bald Finnish fuckwit knew what he was doing after all.

He had a slow start and slow finish but Johansen did have a pretty solid middle part of the season. You'd want more from him at this point in his career points-wise but it was a weird season overall in Nashville where as a unit they weren't generating the offence they probably thought they would with a full season of Johansen and the addition of Subban.

He also played provider to Forsberg and Arvidsson and it showed in his shot totals which were his lowest for a full season since his rookie year by far. That did result in a career-high assist tally though.

In the 200 foot game sense, he was also by far Nashville's most defensively-responsible centre. I'm guessing that gave Arvidsson and Forsberg a lot of leeway to cheat more often.

Maybe Columbus saw him as expendable because they had Wennberg on the way, which is fine, but Nashville definitely has someone in Johansen that they were sorely lacking as does Columbus in Jones.

Now on THIS point, I sorely miss Joey. That is a part of the game that Wenny just can't do.

So, this guy made a shirt.

They showed him on the Jumbo Tron and Werenski saw it, cracked up laughing and went and took the guy a signed game jersey.

Well, you build teams from the Blue Line out. This guy could be a huge wild card, but all signs point to him being not only NHL ready, but could slot in as the 3rd/4th D. I think they are trying to get him in to rookie camp in July.

Werenski - Jones
Gavrikov - Murray
Savard - Carlsson
Nutivaara - Kukan

Oldest dude is Savard. He's 26.

Gregory Campbell joins the CBJ coaching staff, in an effort to make sure that Columbus players never get suspended again.

They are also trying to trade for Chris Pronger's rights
