Don W said Cayden was working closely with doctors and trying to get back to 100% with physical therapy and strength rehab, but he never seemed to get above 90% which is the level with which he has played. They did a quick surgery to remove a small portion of disc that was pressing against a nerve. He's gonna rest for 30 days and start training again. He is staying in Columbus and doctors think this is a one time thing and he should recover fully without issue.

He said the issue seems to stem from improper rehab and lifting weights too quickly after a previous injury.

This surgery is what Vasilevskiy, Eichel, Stone and Tyler Johnson have had an fully come back from.
