I think at this point, Torts isn't even defending Torts. He's just hoping they get it sorted out and make the playoffs so he can go out on a high note.

Mikko Lehtonen has made it through the border and has joined the team in Columbus and traveled with them to Detroit. He will wear #43.

In addition, goalie Daniil Tarasov is expected to be in Columbus today after the team he was loaned to got bounced from the KHL playoffs. Expectation is he will spend a few days here and head to Cleveland to join the Monsters.

Yegor Chinacough has not signed a new KHL deal, so hopefully when his playoffs are over in the K, he will sign here and come over also.

Something is going on, that's for sure. Torts likely isn't helping the kid much, but this downward trend in production is concerning.

Laine outpaced Matthews in points their first season and Jets fans were convinced they got the better player. Funny how that’s worked out since.

Something is going on, that's for sure. Torts likely isn't helping the kid much, but this downward trend in production is concerning.

His centers have been Foligno, Nash and Kevin Fucking Stenlund. Almost every play, he is the one beings tasked with carrying the puck into the zone, usually from a position of covering for Michael Del Zotto who typically has just lost the puck behind the offensive net.

He works hard, but he should not be the guy digging pucks out of corners and hanging back to cover mildly retarded defensemen.

But Torts is happy, he's learning to be a "power forward". No coach has ever gotten less out of more.


They land an actual center, or actually give Domi a shot there (not one shift as Laine's center) and he could turn around. Plus ditching dump and chase.

If Torts stays, he should ask out. But then again, so should everyone but Del Fuckstick and Jenner.

Honestly, given how bad the team is Torts is probably going to get some credit here for keeping them anywhere near the playoffs.
