He could’ve done the Matthews and just kept signing shorter term to maximize earning potential.

There’s obviously security in the term but chances are he’ll still be good in three years and could’ve t done a higher AAV long term deal then.

He also could’ve just played out and went to market and gotten whatever he wanted.

He will be #5 in AAV next year. Only Panarin is ahead of him but he is 32 and not a C. Overall that seems fair.
