Why wouldn't they give Laine another attempt?

Suzuki's shot went off Soderblom's pad, off the post, straight up in the air, and hit Soderblom on the way down and almost trickled in.

A better question is why didn't the ref check the goal to find the puck before Laine's attempt.
Yeah, how do four sets of eyes with nothing else to look at on the ice miss that it went in? I was a thousand miles away and my thought was "there's no way that missed".

But Laine was taking his attempt thinking he had the chance to go ahead. Not that he had to score to tie.

Yup and it's a totally different mindset. Nazar's celebration was certainly muted, but he did raise his stick and knew he scored, crazy that the ref at that end of the ice didn't see the water bottle pop at the back of the net.

Well it is the most inept sports league in the world.

I don't think I've ever seen that before to be honest - Watching it live though (just like 43 posted), I was sure Nazar had scored (again the water bottle popping was the dead giveaway).

Yep I was amazed watching that thinking are the officials blind or dumb or a combination of both

From the angle it left the stick it was either in Montembault's armpit or in the net. When he stood up and there was no puck, that would be what Sherlock Holmes would call a clue.

I can't believe a team as good as the Habs might miss the playoffs.

They were good in December and March.....

yeah, they were actually pretty entertaining those months too...others, not so much
I think we had 2 (2 week) stretches of solid hockey this year. If we were in the East we would be in the playoffs but I am glad it doesnt work like that as the team would think they do not have to make changes. We benefitted off much weaker teams in the West so I think we have about 10 pts we should not have. I do hope you guys make it. Would love to see Montreal craziness but Columbus and Johnny is hard not to cheer for as well although I will probably cheer more for Montreal long term in the playoffs

Don't think the Canucks have won three games in a row all year.

It has been the very definition of meh

It seems like some people are mad at the Habs messing with the lineup to get Demidov playing time. Have they seen any of the Hab's games the last two weeks? No excuse for not messing with the lineup.

He seemed like a huge breath of fresh air. He was everywhere. Not one Jackets defender could contain him. We got lucky that a few of his passes didn't connect or we'd have been long dead.

In a similar vein, some Flames fans are mad that Zayne Parekh has yet to play a game. The Flames are 9-2-3 since St. Patrick's Day, do you really want to make changes to this lineup?

I hope Columbus wins tonight! I'd prefer Wednesday's game means something. Now if the Habs lose Wednesday........
