LOL......Its funny you guys bring up a defensive player to compare. But you got to admit there have been many many many offensive players that laid and egg as well.

I don't follow. I'm guessing you may have quoted the wrong person in your response here. Lol

We all know how much of a freak A. Ogletree is and the impact he had on the D as he improved every game. This why I'm so high on adding K. Mack to our D.

OLB K. Mack 6'3" 251 lbs vs OLB A. Ogletree 6'2" 242 lbs

K.Mack 40 yd - 4.65 A.Tree 40 yd- 4.70
K.Mack 225lbs - Bench 23 A.Tree 225lbs - Bench 20
K.Mack Vert Jump 40" A.Tree Vert Jump 33.5"
K.Mack Broad Jump 128" A.Tree Broad Jump 122"
K.Mack 20yd shuffle 4.18 sec A.Tree 20yd shuffle 4.39 sec
How would he fit in with Gregg Williams defense? I know that in Cover 4 and Cover 2, linebackers are almost never going to rush the passer which means that you aren't picking Mack until the middle of the first round at the latest in a 4-3 scheme and a team in the 3-4 is going to want him well before then.

That's kinda what I was thinking, too. But, it can only do wonders for the value of our #2 overall pick. The combine just made it even more of a "win-win" situation for us!

Caynine29- I was making a quote to both of you commenting on agreeing about being a defensive player busting. There, do you understand now?

He'll be gone before we pick. Plus we'll retain Dunbar so I doubt we draft another LB in the 1st round. We have waaay bigger needs than LB. Plus we have to start thinking of drafting a MLB to take over for JL55.

I guess you're talking about pick 13. I'm talking pick 2. I don't think you are seeing how good this guy is. IMO you don't pass on elite talent just because it's not your biggest need. And OLB is a need for us, maybe not the biggest but we are thin at LB. Last year everyone was talking about Ogletrees crazy athletic ability and for good reason and this dude just blew that up! Tree would have been a top 15 pick last year if not for off field issues. I thought about JL55 replacement... Why couldn't it be Mack? He's bigger, light years faster and can cover better then JL. Bottom line is when you have a top 5 pick you cannot miss!! IMO Mack is the safest pick there is.

I think you just put this kid on the field and forget about it. He's not coming off. Sometimes I think we overthink things.

Anyone know when the DBs go? I'm anxious to see what safeties stand out and how that kid from St. Charles does - Pierre Desir. Seems like a good guy and hungry too.

That's why I'm big on CJ Mosley. He can play inside or outside. He can play outside until the Rams need a replacement for Laurinaitis.

Yeah I just read that. I think Trumaine and Janoris will be better next year. Trumaine came on strong at the end of last year. We definitelty need a safety in the first 3 rounds.

Did they ever say why Mosley didn't run the 40 yesterday?

Dennard ran 4.42 unofficial. That was the only question about his game. That's plenty fast.
HaHa ran 4.5
Gilbert 4.35

Oh... I wasn't agreeing with a defensive, or offensive player in particular, busting. What side of the ball he plays on was inconsequential to my statement. While I was agreeing that players with great combine numbers sometimes do bust... My comment was simply stating that Clowney's combine performance only helps the value of our draft position.

Safeties:

Terrence Brooks ran a 4.42/40

Marqueston Huff ran a 4.49/40

Craig Loston ran a 4.65/40

HaHa Dix ran a 4.58/40

Calvin Pryor ran a 4.58/40

Tre Boston ran a 4.59/40

Pryor got the highest overall grade, while Boston was the lowest according to NFL.com

I like Huff, Pryor, and Brooks

It was odd, considering he did the other positional drills. Maybe he's holding out for his pro day to work on it some more.

Justin Gilbert totally separated himself from the rest of the DBs. There are a lot of good safeties but no Earl Thomas or Eric Berry

Brock Vereen is another interesting safety from Minnesota Gophers. He ran a 4.47 and his brother Shane plays for New England and his dad was drafted by the Bucs. 6' 200 & he did 25 reps on the bench. Thats insane for a safety

That seminole secondary was sick. PJ Williams (REMEMBER THAT NAME) FSU soph CB is going to be awesome when he comes out next year. He's special!

Brooks can play too. Not a big hitter, but phenom athlete. NOt the strongest guy (10 reps on bench), but he's got alot of talent.

Pryor is the guy that just sticks out - big hitter with swag with good speed. Brooks would be fine later in the draft too. They are saying Huff will play CB.

Where TF is KSU? He's must be watching the combine and on no sleep, taking notes... eating cheetos.

I have finally switched my 3rd favorite team on here to the Noles. I tried to hold on as long as I could, but my Illini bball has to go. Chicago Simeon HS could take them right now, so I hate to do it... But it's time. March is alot better when the Illini are ballin.

I know I'll take shit for it, but it is what it is.
