Basically for a late 7th that wasn't going to make the roster anyways so really a no lose move.

Also I trust Harbaugh must have seen something he feels he can salvage out of McCoy to bother with making the move.

If I'm McCoy I'm doing backflips right now because he's going to receive the finest QB coaching in the league and the best chance for him to salvage his career.

Well we also got a 6th in the deal. McCoy is an Alex Smith clone, basically, without the mobility.

He has a winning record with the Browns for christ sakes, he is a gamer and can run and make throws on the run. Remember in CLE he has zero weapons and awful coaching, JH is the best QB coach in the league as he has done wonders with Smith and Kap now. I expect McCoy to be a solid backup, not great or good but solid, better then Tolzein and Josh Johnson

People are upset we gave up a really low round draft choice in a draft where we have so many picks we can't possibly use them all, for a backup quarterback who will be coached by the best quarterback guru in the league at the moment. They would rather we give up a 3rd, 4th, 2nd, or 5th round pick for a rookie to backup Kaep, or that we got some malcontent like Carson Palmer or Vince Young.

I saw this on Yahoo Monday and thought it was an April Fools joke. I saw it again Tuesday and it had me wondering. I still don't get it .. we could have got him really cheap without wasting any draft picks. I have more faith in Tolzien.
