Annoying as he is, CC was actually right on the first call though. That was not a TD. He bobbled the ball and didnt get the second foot down. 10 years ago when the rule first came in that would have been a no brainer reversal.

Hearken back to the first time it was ever called in 2008 on Megatron. Dude catches the ball, rolls over, gets up and is about to spike the ball when it slips out of his hand. No TD!!!! Apparently back then you not only had to complete the process of the catch, you also had to complete the process of the TD celebration.

If you weren't watching the game you would have never known what was happening based upon what he was saying.

I heard michaels say "and the pats take the lead" on the Gronk TD. No they didn't. That tied it. The extra point gave them the lead.

Al Michaels also said Matt Patricia would become the head coach of the Pistons today. So that should be interesting.

From what we have seen in the past regarding the new rule I think Collinsworth was right on the first one. The ball clearly moved and once the receiver finally had total possession he was too deep and did step on the end line. The 2nd one, I have no idea what he was thinking. Everyone who knows the game knew that was a TD the instant Ertz crossed the goal line.

Collingsworth was the worst thing of the Super Bowl, he was completely off the rails on the Ertz TD, and later saying Brady was going to win in overtime. He was outright cheering for the a Patriots.

They are supposed to be impartial/unbiased.

Michaels and Collinsworth are usually pretty decent, but last night was especially bad for CC. I get that it's somewhat comical about the catch rule....but the Ertz TD was....obvious.
