Conferences are not equal. Not to mention you just removed any meaning to OOC games, and now being in a weak conference becomes an advantage.

A selection committee will more often than not have at least 2 conf champs and in some years 3 and 4.

What I want is the 4 best teams and I have faith the committee will get it right.

The BCS got it right in all its 14 years so far. An argument can be made in 1 maybe 2 years they missed.

OK, then a rule is put in place forcing every FBS school to have at least 1 tough to semi tough FBS opponent in OOC, which is how teams schedule today anyway.

4 teams work right now. It's much better than 2. But I think having all conference champions is the fairest way to do it.

Why not do it like NCAA Hoops? As far as I know, they got the best post season in all of collegiate team sports.

It could be part of the "equation" to qualify for the playoff. You win your conference, but you scheduled 4 FCS schools in OOC = you are eliminated from playoffs.....

You said best 2-3 loss teams could beat the best. Given the way Alabama played in the capital one bowl game that year, I think it's pretty plausible. As plausible as any other 2-3 loss team beating Alabama anyway.
