Does anyone else think that this is a precursor to us taking away part of Indy's rotation? As in - we take Locke and McPherson but here's Cole as a replacement?

Sounds right to me. Not necessarily both Locke and McPherson right away, but I expect to see at least one of them before the August 31 deadline. If only one comes up now, the other will certainly follow in September.

In any case, the closer Cole and Taillon get to the Majors is fine by me.

I think it is twofold. They will bring one of the AAA pitchers up, but I think they want to get Cole's innings up as much as anything else. By putting him in Indy he should get at least 2 more starts instead of the 1 he would get at Altoona. Also, there is not one pitcher on our AAA roster that should be holding Cole back. When he is ready for a promotion, he gets promoted.

I agree no one should be holding Cole back. I wonder if his track to the Majors will be earlier next year now?

Interesting note at the bottom of the Article about who the Pirates are sending to AFL. None of them to me seem to be real prospects and note sure there would be others players to go?

I think you can only send 1 player to the AFL under AA. Most of our prospects are either in AAA(aka we gonna call em up for the playoff run) or in A ball.

I'm pretty sure you're right about that. So yea, there aren't many options.

Cole had a rough first inning, giving up 3 runs..... but went on to pitch pretty well after that, and got the win when Indianapolis won 8-4.
