Just heard the somber news. Get well Cobra

Yep, as I just mentioned was a possibility in my post in the Cole Hamels thread. Torn ligament in his pitching arm.
Say goodbye to Mike Olt, because there is no way JD/Nolan are heading into the playoffs with Oswalt, Feliz, and Holland needing to fill 2 rotation spots.
No question. Dont be surprised if they bring in 2 pitchers.
I think they get 2 pitchers if they include holland or feliz in the second deal
not willing to let Feliz go and if you trade Holland then you would need 3 starters because you would only have Harrison and Darvish and an iffy Oswalt
Never thought hearing this news would hurt as much as it does. I have faith in JD that this will work itself out.
I hope they get one of josh johnson, cliff lee, cole hamels, or zack greinke
not good news........i still have faith in the guys we have and still hope we dont get rid of the farm for lee/rental
holland, darvish, feliz, harrison, oswalt, perez can get it done imo

depends on what you're calling "get it done".
Just make the playoffs? Probably.
World Series? Not a chance.
Playoff rotation of Harrison, Darvish and who else???? Just lost the most dominating pitcher the Rangers have had in the postseason the past 2 years...
Colby has been our guaranteed playoff win the last two years. With him gone I honestly don't think we have a pitcher like that. I still think the phillies will extend Hamels and Daniels will find a way to get lee that doesn't gut the farm.
The only wrench in that plan is if Philly re-signs Hamels and instead of getting rid of Lee to free up money instead gets rid of Pence, Victorino, and maybe even Rollins. I've read where that scenario is a possibility too. The thinking there by Philly is that it would be easier to replace an aging SS and a very good OF like Pence than it would to replace an ace like Lee.
The latest reports out of Philly tonight say that the talks with Hamels are advancing and that him re-signing with the Phillies is looking more and more likely. That could change at any moment though. If Hamels does re-sign, I really do hope that they make Lee available for trade.
