So pridictable, but the flock is so goddamned gullible

Funny how most of the donations to that are going to come from people who used to rail about "participation trophies" making kids unable to accept when they lose.

It does seem like this is a wedge issue people are legit pissed about for whatever reason, which is weird because there's been like four provincial elections including a big one in BC during the pandemic and in each of them it was an issue for about 3 days before nobody talked about it again.

Going by the Leger poll (they were pretty close in 2019) Erin isn't really slipping away too concerningly (he's at 32%, from 34% two weeks ago) but the upward momentum is definitely gone and Trudeau went up a bit at the expense of the NDP which may show that urban ridings Erin needs the left to split may go ABC and give Trudeau enough for another minority.

Flip side, enough people saying they're supporting the PPC will probably wind up voting Conservative and give Erin at least a point or two. That may be enough for some of the tight suburban Vancouver and urban Edmonton ridings to go blue.

m the What is it with socialist parties and anti-semitism?

I don't know what's going on with the NDP - Meanwhile, I'm more concerned about the PPC...

There could be plenty of reasons why so many people are drawn to the People’s Party. They have become resentful and untrusting over the loss of manufacturing jobs. They are stressed by the pandemic. Some of them resent the increasing number of non-European immigrants. This is racist, but it is how they feel. And they enjoy the self-empowerment that comes from rejecting authority.

Of course, if they siphon off some votes from the Toole man, that's not terrible.
