Saying "we chose the best of our bad options", a panel of federal judges has ordered Ohio to implement a set of state legislative maps that were ruled unconstitutional by the Ohio Supreme Court.

Meanwhile in Ohio - Trump appointed judges have agreed that Republicans can use an electoral map that was already deemed unconstitutional. The reason they can use it is because the original ruling said the new proposed maps had to be turned in by May 25. And Republicans just stopped trying to make new maps, knowing that they'd have to pick on of the three unconstitutional maps to go forward if a new map was not proposed in time.

I have seen big data analytics acurately predict crime trends, customer habits and even which offices will be most affected by the flow of COVID infections. Electoral maps are a data problem. Start with the number of people in the state divided by the number of districts and set parameters on minimum and maximum distance between edge borders of the district lines and go from there. There really shouldn't be any consideration for racial makeup or income. Just number of people in a given area. Algorithms cannot be bribed.
