Most shoved down into poverty are from the lesser blessed countries of the world who depend on the 1st world, the western world for much of their economic health.

The US Constitution, in practice, makes it illegal to restrict people from your PRIVATELY OWNED business, because of race, skin color, sex, gender, etc.. So just because something is owned by a company or an individual, doesn't mean they have the right to run it exactly how they please, able to restrict access for any reason they want. Right?

Like I said....you don't understand rules that you have to follow and that breaking those rules causes you to be muted.

I don't think anyone disagrees there are unsavory corporate elitists out there. The questions are (1) how does that prove they conspired to launch a pandemic? and (2) why do you support the side that doesn't want to fucking tax and regulate their asses to decrease poverty?

See, I see free speech to mean you can say anything outside of crying fire in a crowded movie theatre or calling for violence against others, openly talking about your plan to commit a terrorist act is another example of speech that can and should be censored. But the ACLU made it clear that hateful evil speech such as the Kay K Kay holding up offensive signs while wearing their white hooded outfits marching down the street is PROTECTED SPEECH.

A "publisher", who is responsible for what they print, can censor people's speech so as to protect themselves from liability, they can be sued. Companies that want to create a "public platform", are protected by the Govt via a law created just for this issue. When accepting this Govt Protection, that means you can not be sued, you are not liable for what people post, so you are supposed to allow free speech. Now maybe you can argue that sites can choose to CENSOR speech regardless, and maybe they can? That does NOT change what they are doing into something else, it's STILL Censorship. And I'm trying to argue that just because you CAN censor, doesn't mean it's a good thing or the right thing to do. I'm arguing that censorship, in public forums, is a bad idea, it's a dumb idea, it's for wussies and losers and the overly sensitive.

Individuals choose to censor all the time. When you turn off a tv show that offends you, you have chosen to CENSOR it. That is your right, but that doesn't make it right or good or useful. Doesn't inherently make it wrong, either. But either way it's still CENSORSHIP.

Censoring what your children watch is an example of a good time to censor.


FB and Twitter and this forum may have the legal right to censor, but no one here are children. One of the greatest aspects of the American experiment was the 1st Amendment and the Freedom of Speech. Those Racist K Kay Kers being allowed to publicly display their ugliness to the public, helped to expose them and their ugliness for what it was. And now almost no one admits that they belong to that organization, do they? Free speech is a good thing. People with radical ideas have been de-radicalized because people offended by their public statements, got to see them, for they were not censored, and were able to confront them and over time, de-radicalized the person. It happens. But when you censor all the speech that offends you, you force the radicals to gather in secret or in places their ideas and speech is welcome, basically echo chambers that only help to reenforce their radical ideas. That does no one any good.

And FB has lost lots of money because of the choices they have made. You spoke about consequences. Well, that is a two way street. The best sports discussion forum I ever was a part of, fell victim to too much censorship. They restricted who could be allowed on the site to only people they liked and/or could tolerate, and over time people moved on with their lives and the only people left hanging out were the irritating guys who liked to go back and forth with each other. They were tolerated because they produced the most traffic at the site. But eventually enough people moved on and the new people who got recruited didn't want to wait for more recruits to come aboard, so they left and the guy gave up on the site and shut it down. The opposite is true at CBS, they spent so much time trying to censor people and manage the place, the censored people just created new ids and came back anyways, so it was too costly and CBS just shut it down. Had they just let it go and allowed people to self manage each other/the place, it could have continued at a fraction of the cost and the moaners and groaners, the Karen's who made CBS feel like they had to maintain control, would have just complained to other posters and we had ways to deal with them. Everyone either ignored them until they got bored and went away, or we all ganged up on them until they ran away with their tails between their legs. lol.


If you want to raise up a generation of wussies, then protect them and yourself from speech that offends you and/or makes you uncomfortable and 10-20 years from now we may all be speaking Chinese if we survive the invasion? Or maybe Russian? Or Spanish? Because an overly woke and sensitive America will not survive in this world. And I wouldn't want to. You all ruined comedy or are trying to ruin it. You ruined movies and TV and to some degree music, too. You're trying to ruin sports.
