I honestly don't understand what is going on with this blockade that can't be fixed. I've been following it a little bit, but not in detail up until now.

It seems to me pretty straightforward. You arrest the individuals, tow, and impound their vehicles. I thought the same thing when the BLM protestors took to highways a couple years ago. There are laws related to the rights to free speech and assembly. When people violate those laws, you enforce them. They do not include taking over a highway or keeping people up all night. We have ordinances against those actions. If the local police force is overwhelmed, you bring in national guard or military to manage the scale of the problem.

Whether it's BLM protestors hitting cops with tear gas, truckers parked in a road, world bank protestors sitting in intersections, or a riot at a national capital building, the response is the same - your officers of the law sworn to enforce the law do that job.

We don't always get our way in a democracy and we certainly have the right to protest, but there is a time and manner for that process. If individuals can't stay within those bounds, they are criminals, not freedom fighters. I don't care what fucking end of the spectrum they are on.

I don't understand why this is a complicated process nor why the government is having a difficult time with it. It's a fucking flow chart of actions and consequences. Follow it. End of story.
