Will never forget we had a snow day and was watching this at home.
FWIW the Reddit group was only private for about an hour and they posted in there saying they were trying to get rid of bots etc. going in there and making racist/sexist/etc. posts. It's working fine today.my take on the game stop thing.
in a free market, these guys can buy or sell what they want, they can even organize to do it.
the company is still fundamentally worth whatever it is... and will eventually return to that level.
when I was a stock analyst, one of my colleagues had a poster on his wall saying "the market can stay irrational longer than you can stay solvent"
That always stuck with me - just because you are right on your valuation, doesn't mean you will be able to benefit from it.
however - when the market in this stock does return to its base level, these people are going to be the ones holding the bag, because no rational investor would be buying at this level.
so, it's a matter of buying and hoping to sell to a bigger sucker. fair enough, happens all the time.
however, by making the reddit group private, they are no longer trading on publicly available information.
and therein lies the potential SEC issue.
Regarding the bold, that assumes that every one of these guys is literally just an amateur day trader. If even one of the guys promoting this on WSB has a broker's license (or similar), I'm thinking they're going to be in bug trouble.my take on the game stop thing.

I think that is the literal definition of a pump so, yeah that would be dumb.Regarding the bold, that assumes that every one of these guys is literally just an amateur day trader. no one ever puts that Nietszche quote in contextGod didn't remove Trump, the people did.
People > God
I mean there is nothing rational about these morons thoughts. But in their self-justification this is probably the most rational thought that came out of their insane minds.God didn't remove Trump, the people did.
People > God
Well, with Portman throwing in the towel there are rumors of Gym running for Senate. So maybe this guy does stand a chance.
Lets only hope but due to the gerrymandering does any Democrat really have a chance?Well, with Portman throwing in the towel there are rumors of Gym running for Senate. So maybe this guy does stand a chance.
