These guys usually hit the mark and I don't disagree with the point they're making, I just feel this somehow trivializes domestic abuse. If they had a second crack at this, I think they would have used a different analogy.

I used this analogy with a MAGA, that tried to talk to me at the store, and it went as well as you could think.

Told them hypothetically, someone breaks into your house and you call the cops.
The Cops come and negotiate with the thief stating the only way they will leave is if you give me (the cop) all your jewelry and then give the thief full access to your house moving forward.

Naturally the MAGA response was that would never happen because I would just shoot them and game over.
So I told them what if you were out of bullets and the only way you could shoot them is if the cop gave you a bullet for all your jewelry.

And once again their response was that would never happen because I would shoot them.
Then I told them what if there were MORE thieves, and you ran out of bullets and need the cop to give you those bullets for all your jewelry.

They had some unintelligible response after that I just gave up and told them to "bless your heart". Not sure if they understood that since this happened in Pittsburgh.

It's still early here on the Left Coast, but the sun is shining and the birds are singing. We're not in a great spot currently, but hopefully the right people will rise up and recognize the dangerous path the world is going down. It's not too late to change course.

I'm going to try to be a positive force for good today. Like CS Lewis said:
"Good and evil both increase at compound interest. That is why the little decisions you and I make every day are of such infinite importance. The smallest good act today is the capture of a strategic point from which, a few months later, you may be able to go on to victories you never dreamed of."

So I'm going to be extra polite and nice today in my journeys. I'm going to let someone get in the checkout line before me. I'll leave a nice tip when I pick up food later. I'll let the middle aged woman pushing her shopping cart in front of me know she has the ass of a 25 year old. I'll text some old friends to see how they're doing.

I'll be extra nice and positive here. Every little thing helps.

I started with that attitude, but went to the grocery store, and kept running into some idiot who would constantly leave his cart blocking the entire aisle.
First time, I said excuse me and waited for him to move it. He seemed genuinely surprised that there was another person who would actually be in the same aisle.
Second time I pushed by with my cart with a clang and a heavy sigh. Again, utter shock they someone else is in the store.
Third time I made sure to get a piece of him as a pushed by and just said "what the fuck is wrong with you"

After that I felt better again.
