Eh, their coaches push their players to the programs who offer the coaches the most. We went bankrupt paying for the wrong guy

Stephen Godfrey (Split Zone Duo) laid out basically the same arguement. Easy road to hoe in Blacksburg coaching against arguably the weakest P5 division and without the astronomical expectations, politics, and drama of UF or LSU.

Of course, UF and LSU would likely give you an extra $1-2m/yr sooooooo who knows.

Do you listen to that pod? He just put out a new one tonight with a likely coach for VT but I don't pay for it. Wondering who it is. Godfrey is usually pretty on point with his coaching stuff

Listening to it as we speak. Will let you know once he gets to us. But my understanding from sources so far is as follows:

• Clawson was never an option. Self generated smoke to get himself a raise/extension
• Napier was ours until Mullen got fired.
• Campbell is an outside shot but likely trying to get his second extension in 10 months. Keep an eye on him for OU.
• Huff still has only fan based smoke. Nothing from any outsiders
• Freeman's name isn't even being mentioned.
• Bill O'Brien is probably the leader in the clubhouse. Would align with a rumored Dec 5th announcement since Saban doesn't allow staff to "officially" interview until after the season. If he falls through.... I've got nothing.
