Obviously Blazers fans will say Terry Stotts and Suns fans will say Jeff Hornacek. What do others think?

Reason I give Hornacek an edge is because let's remember Phoenix was supposed to be the worst team in the NBA this year. Portland was supposed to be solid and has a lot more talent. Hornacek has done more with less. Both doing sensational, though.

1) Hornacek
2) Stotts

Honorable Mention: Dwane Casey (if Toronto keeps this up)

Typically coaches with stacked teams don't win the award. He's a great coach, though.

I agree but if they go on to finish with the top seed in the east and finish with 63 wins, he will get votes.

What about Mark Jackson if GSW finishes top 2 seed?

If GS finishes as a top 2 seed then Jackson becomes a strong candidate for sure. They are pretty loaded with talent as well and based off previous winners of the award that doesn't bode well for him or Vogel. They will both get votes for sure, either way. But if Portland and Phoenix both continue to play well then it will be hard to win it over one of those two.

If the award went to the best coach in the NBA every year then Popovich would have won the award like 10 times by now.
