The fact that he would have played the same role in either offense and Denver has more established outside threats is why he was happier moving.

We moved on because he made it clear he wasn't buying in to the patriots ideology any more. The foot thing was hilarious but it was also a "fuck you" to Belichick.

I still like Wes, like I still like many other ex-Patriots. But moving on was much better for everyone.

Logan Mankins demanded a trade after calling owner Robert Kraft a liar. That's saying FU to the owner. Last I knew he still playing for the Patriots. So you can't say FU too BB but its ok too the owner. I guess that's why Wes Welker is gone. Wilfork speaks out on contract may skip minicamp and they signed him. Adam Vinatieri and Ty Law who just wanted to feed is family, Willie McGinest and Randy Moss left because the Pats didn't think they had anything left to demand a long term contract and they where Right on most of them. Adam Vinatieri they where wrong but it turned out for the best. Wes was franchise tag in 2012 for $9.5 million. BB benches Wes Welker for Rex Ryan foot jokes in 2011 but in 2012 they give him $9.5 million. I think they got this one wrong.

Money wasn't the reason Wes left.

And no, amendola (when healthy) didn't play close to the role Welker used to. Welker wouldn't have accepted a reduced role.

Amendola could NEVER repeat Welkers figures. By the way, at a reduced role with the Bronco's Welker is leading the league in TD's. So STFU, you don't know your ass from elbow.

I said he would put up numbers in Denver. Time and time again. There is a lot of talent on that offense and Welker is more than capable of being the third guy.

He wouldn't have accepted being the third guy here. He made that pretty obvious IMO.

And Amendola was never intended to match Wes's numbers.

Edelman has more catches than Welker. He is being hit hard because of the lack of experienced weapons. Welker is getting free for TD's because the emphasis on the defense is on the other receivers.
I liked Welker. Nobody told him to leave so by definition, he wanted to go. We were still negotiating when he took the other offer, by definition, that means we wanted him. If you think we should not negotiate, you do not understand pro sports.

We weren't still negotiating when he signed with Denver. We had already given him a final, take it or league it offer (that I was upset about. I didn't want him regardless of cost).

So you did not want to retain the most productive receiver the team had, well, how's that working out this year?

We're 5-2 with a decent division lead and improving.

I didn't say we are better now. I said we are better down the stretch and going into the future.

So basically there is only room for improvement. And when we had Wes is there any doubt at all we were more effective?

We weren't all that effective. Wes is a great slot guy but can't be the man. He wanted to be the man here. Hence, he's gone. Good fucking riddance. This team down the stretch is much better with him gone.

Although I agree with you, it's a hard sell. We are feeling the pain right now but I don't think Welker would change anything.
