I think its pretty smart. The date is what, Rampage's 2nd or 3rd show? This is a great way to get people to tune into a new show and get people use to the timeslot. And while every week won't be CM Punk level, it at least shows that AEW is gonna put content on the show that's worth checking out. It's not gonna be some throwaway show like WWE Sunday Night Heat or WCW Saturday Night (after Nitro started)

If(and at this point it's likely when) Punk debuts for AEW how do you use him so he doesn't come across as what he used to criticize WWE for back before he left. He would rail against them for bringing back old guys no matter how big of a name and giving them big paydays and spots and the young talent would have to take a backseat and lower spot on the card to accommodate them. Well now Punk is the old guy coming in because he's a big name and taking tv time and roster placement from the up and comers. Unless he comes back and loses he's now the main thing he hated.

I can see that line of thinking but Dynamite's ratings tanked on the Friday night time slot even as their only show. Just a really tough night but if theres anything AEW can do for a big one time rating this would be it.

Dynamite is a 2 hr show though. The 11pm hour drags down the ratings a lot which is a big reason why the numbers went down (also NBA competition). A 1 hr show shouldn't be too bad.

They take shots at baby faces and heels alike. Then, in a pivotal segment, John Moxley is revealed to be the Third Man.

But that's where it stops.

Just with these three.

You don't get to have half the roster joining with them.

I spend too much time with wrestling. I read "one grizzled veteran" as "grizzled young veterans" (who are rumored to be leaving WWE to go to AEW) and got really confused.

While I don’t think Edge is a needle mover like Punk, he definitely isn’t going to have all the drama and chaos following him like Punk either.
