Rudy Gaye was awful this year. The Grizz miss zbo. Everytime he misses a jump shot, it's a run out on the other end.

The story in this series will be rebounding. Clippers got a lot of second chance points from what I could tell

Z-Bo needs to have a big series. Usually when he plays well Memphis is a lock to win. The guy was dominant two years ago. It's too bad they don't force feed him anymore. The knee injury has slowed him down to an extent and Memphis no longer has a perimeter threat (O.J. Mayo or Rudy Gay) to back him up.

Memphis offense was on par with what it usually does throughout the year. The problem is that they got outrebounded 47-23 which got the Memphis defense out of position and led to easy buckets. Conley had a bad offensive game from what I could tell and the Grizzlies guards generally got blown up by the Clippers pick and roll.

This is where coaching comes in. Memphis makes adjustments and they can easily get back in the series. But if they get outrebounded by 10+ on a regular basis, they're going to get swept.

Yes rebounding is an issue. However, they are unable to manufacture enough points. Gaye gives them that 1 on 1 player that can get his shot. Your PG should not be the only player that can do that.

And miss 70% of the time. Bayless can create his own shot and shoots a higher percentage. Memphis might actually be missing Mayo's defense more than Rudy's offense.

Its still crazy to think that Memphis is competing at all with drafting Thabeet in 09 over James Harden, Stephen Curry, Brandon Jennings, Jrue Holliday, Ty Lawson, Jeff Teague, Tyreke Evans, etc. The legacy of missing out on Kevin Love (traded for Mayo who was unceremoniously let go) and one of those players from 09 is coming back to bite them.

I wouldn't call a player that avg under double figures and a historically 41% shooter a suitable replacement for Gaye. At least Gaye was avg 17 per game. Blayless is probably going to revert back to form just about anytime now. Stepping their defense up is a given since that's their identity but they still need to manufacture points via a player that can bring it from the wing.

This is a great game but Clippers are going to win this series. Grizz guards can't stay with Clippers guards. Both teams playing better than last year.

Marc Gasol hits the bench and the Clippers go on a run.

Also not sure why I'm putting an e on Rudy Gay

I would love to see the Grizzlies win, but unfortunately I think the Clippers are too good for them

As much as I'm knocking Rudy Gay, Prince is useless.
