Branch

3 all pro
4 pro bowls
501 receptions
8685 yards
67 td

Pearson

3 all pro
3 pro bowls
489
7823
48

So how is Pearson headed to the HOF and Branch isn't?

And his numbers totally dwarf Lynn Swann's and better than Bob Hayes, both HOFers.

Branch not being in the HOF is simply wrong.

If ever a classic receiving trio., Biletnikoff the route runner the hands, Casper the bull, Branch the zooooommmm. The hands and the bull in the HOF now bring the zoooooooommm.

Niner fan here.

How fast was Branch, while at Colorado he ran the 100yards in 9.2 nine times (so the story goes) the WR....9.1.

In track, Branch set an NCAA championship meet record in the 100 meters with a time of 10.0 seconds at the 1972 NCAA championships semifinal in Eugene, Oregon. Branch placed 5th in the final with 10.1, and he said "My goal has always been to win the NCAA 100 meter championship. This is my last track meet, since I expect to sign a pro contract with the Oakland Raiders within the next two weeks."[3][4] He also posted a personal best of 20.5 seconds in the 200 meters.[5] He graduated from Colorado in 1972.[1]

Here is Branch in that NCAA 100m....

1972 NCAA 100m
(Eugene, June 2; wind +2.5)
(36 contestants, 8 finalists; Q—10.3w)
1. Warren Edmonson (UCLA) ................................ Sr ...............10.1w
2. James Amerison (Lincoln)................................. Jr................10.1w
3. Errol Stewart' (UTEP) ........................................ So ..............10.1w
4. Ivory Crockett (Southern Illinois)....................... Sr ...............10.1...would go on to break the 9.1 WR with his 9.0.
5. Cliff Branch (Colorado)...................................... Sr ...............10.1w
6. Harrington Jackson (UTEP)............................... Sr ...............10.2w
7. Harold Porter (Louisiana–Lafayette).................. Jr................10.3w

Look at the finish, the first five all ran a 10.1, I remember that race, took a long time to sort out who placed where.

No point rushing Branch through now. There are multiple former NFL players with stronger HOF credentials who are alive and would benefit from being in the HOF. However, they're not sprinters so they probably don't count. :noidea:

When other WR's have inferior numbers to Branch who are in the HOF something is broke and needs fixing.

Give me one of those stronger HOF credentials you are talking about, who?

Who can give me 6 NFL running backs in the HOF who never had a 1000 yard rushing season.

Bobby Mitchell would have been a great RB if on any other team than the Browns with Jim Brown, he is in the HOF as a WR with the Redskins.

Branch had a better average over 17 to over 14, he had more TD's, he was an All Pro three times, Green,,,0 and Branch had to share the ball with two Hall of Famers in Biletnikoff and Casper.

Branch a different kind of WR, obviously.

Teams need that guy to back the safties off, someone who can score from anywhere on the field, that burner. That was Cliff Branch.

Bo Roberson
Warren Wells
Rod Barksdale....sent Al Davis a letter with his track and football exploits at Arizona mentioned, yep.....sign him.
Willie Gault
James Jett
Rocket Ismail
Jacoby Ford
Sam Graddy
Henry Ruggs

Raiders vertical game.

Another core narcissist trait is the constant need for attention
