I have some old cast iron skillets that I have been wanting to strip down and re season for a few years. I decided to start today.
I looked in to doing this and found a lot of folks using diy electrolysis tanks, so I thought I'd give it a try.
Using an empty tote, two pieces of rebar, some stainless steel wire I have on hand, and an old car battery charger and I have a tank with about $3.00 wrapped up in it.
I cvs the first silly in there right now, and I am amazed, and disgusted by the stuff it has pulled off of, and out of, my skillet. This pic is about two hours in to a 12 hour soak.
And, this skillet was the better of the two I have to do.
I didn't think about getting a before picture of the skillet. I'll get one of the next one. Can't wait to see the results.
