Cle to trade for Cousins

Why would you not deal Cousins for a high third. After all, Griffin is our starter. If we are in any position where Cousins or McCoy have to play for an extended period of time, things are beyond screwed either way. If the Browns offer a 3rd, we deal Cousins and draft even more O-lineman with the pick.

if the browns offer you a 4th I would take it and run because its an early 4th rounder you can get a quality player with that, kirk cousins hasnt done anything that you can justify that he is worth a 3rd round pick

kirk has one year left which means hes a stop gap for a back up position. yes maybe a super valuable back up position. but id take the third round pick over the stop gap.

you cant... but id take a third round pick over one year of a good back up qb. a name? mccoy, hes not that good but he might have to do for next season.

Wow... I like Cousins too. Seems like a serviceable backup, a good teammate, a better person.

But it still absolutely amazes me that some of you guys think he is all that valuable. Why?? Because he has been in the NFL for a couple of years.

Why... you ask?? Because there are 2 or 3 guys you can pick late in the draft that are probably just as good or have the upside to be even better. Because if you trade him for at least a 3rd rounder you get a return, a gain on your investment. Because if you wait too much longer, some team will offer him more $$ than we are willing to spend (on a backup) in hopes that he is the next Joe Montana. In that scenario, we get nothing for the investment that we've made.

Now... What reasons to you give for us to keep Cousins???

i think we keep cousins . as for mccoy i have no issue with him being our number 2 if we tradedKC but i dont see the market there yet

I agree Skinsdad. There doesn't seem to be much interest. I hope we can move him before the season begins. The longer we have him on the roster the more likely we get nothing for him. And if he walks and we get nothing..it isn't the end of the world. But this notion that he is more valuable than a 3rd rounder trade bait (for another guy that could possibly be a starter) is baffling...

Cle is foolish not to offer one of there 3rd round picks for Cousins. Its minimal risk versus taking a QB like Manziel or Bortels with a high 1st round pick. I got a funny feeling that none of the QB's go in the top 10 of the draft.

fact is we spent a 4th rounder on him . i believe we wont have any trouble getting a decent BU qb when or if he goes
