To the Cowboys for a conditional pick.

This is a good pick up for them, I think he does really well there. They have a line that will benefit him just as long as he holds onto the ball. He'll rush for 1000+ this year if he ends up their primary back, and hopefully that nets us something good with the pick. RB just shot up the list of priority in the draft next year.

Players right on the edge of falling off the roster don't command much.

I get that... Thought it would've been more like a 6th, maybe even a 5th... At least we got something in return for a guy we "may" have been cutting...

Can't expect other teams to pay us too well for someone we didn't really want. This is a good deal for Dallas.

He wouldn't stop holding the ball in only his right hand... That was driving the coaches nuts...He wouldn't switch the ball to his left hand when running to the left side...

Sad that we only end up with a 7 when we gave up a 5 for depth at Safety. In JSPC I trust, I think.

If all he is asked to do is run (not block, pass protect, receive) he should be a beast behind the Cowboys line. The guy is a great runner (aside from fumble issues), just can't do the rest of the game. But if the Boys just want him as a situation running back or don't care about his fumble issues he should be amazing.

I always liked Michael. Think I graded it a B+ when we took him. I didn't realize he'd have THAT big of an issue with the non-running and mental game though.

I doubt he's a beast for anyone. Teams are way too averse to turnovers nowadays for him to get too many opportunities. Conditional 7th rounder, from likely the only team interested, speaks volumes about a guy with his running skills.

Funny -- I don't disbelieve the trade is legit, but it's still not being reported on 710 website. Did see a link on NFL.com though.

He'll hit a big open hole, then drop the ball 20 yards downfield with no contact.

I know Michael had his issues here, but you gotta admit this is a bit of a gamble trading him to the Cowboys. After the Packers, Dallas is probably our stiffest competition in the conference. We were awfully high on Michael not too long ago; if what we saw in him then ends up being what Dallas gets from this trade, it could backfire on us. The FO must be awfully confident that Michael won't get it together like Ahman Green did when he was shipped off to GB.

But of course, if we really were going to cut CM to sign Jackson then Dallas still could have picked him up off the scrap heap anyway.

Yeah, I didn't get this. Every other trade we are seeing right now is for a conditional 6th or 7th (because the guys being traded are about to be cut, anyway) and we gave up a 5th for a nobody backup safety?

Anyone have any data on Kelcie McCray that says he should be more valuable than Michael or any of the other traded players this past week?

Just spit-balling here, but if trading for this guy nudges Kam over the edge and he reports this week, then I say that's a 5th rounder well spent.

Rawls looked better than Michaels this preseason anyways. Glad Pete and John are willing to admit their mistakes (like Percy) and move on.

Time to start scouting next year's cast of rbs
