I have a flex spot open and none of my other bench players impress me much. Not that Ivory seems like an overwhelming choice. But since the game is tonight I can't dwell too much on whether to sit/start Ivory.

Here's what others are saying:

Rotoworld: Bilal Powell was also ineffective on the ground... but Ivory is going to have to play better than this to earn a bigger role. ...Keep Ivory on fantasy benches entering Week 2 against the Patriots.
USA Today: Ivory’s blend of size and speed will create a tough test for the defense’s interior players, and the New England Patriots surrendered 136 rushing yards against the Buffalo Bills. Gang Green must run at them, and Ivory will look to atone for his bad game.
CBS: Fantasy owners should probably stay away from both Bilal Powell nor Chris Ivory for Week 2 against the Patriots... Our experts have Powell ranked slightly higher for Week 2 (34th on average, vs. 40th for Ivory), but neither has the makings of anything more than a flex option in deeper formats this week.
ESPN: It was predictable that the Bucs' top-rated rush defense would shut down the Jets.

And for the record, here's my other flex options: Bowe vs DAL; Mike Williams vs NO; Ingram @ TB.

So if you guys sway me away from Ivory, then I can blame you guys.

I would actually probably start all 3 over Ivory. Mike Williams against the Saints looks the most appealing to me.

I should also point out that I usually don't pay attention to what "experts" have to say. My view is that they primarily look at the matchup and decide based on that, without regard for intangibles.

My view is that at some point, Ivory needs to establish himself. And a prime time game is the perfect opportunity.

And thanks Money, but you can disregard my other flex options - I was looking at the wrong fantasy team (one of my other five).

Heres my take on the Jets RB's from last week.

The Bucs obviously thought Geno Smith couldn't beat them, proven by Kellen Winslow's best stat line in forever. They committed to stopping the run and taking a "make the rook beat us through the air" approach. And neither Powell or Ivory is good enough to do much against an NFL defense geared to stop them.

So this week, now that the PATs are aware that Geno Smith is at least somewhat capable of making plays, there won't be as much resistance for the running game. . still won't be great, but it'll be better.

As for your other options, Bowe is interesting, especially given what Cruz, Randell, and Nicks did to the Cowboys last week (if Nicks could run, he'd have had a huge week as well). So if you're not comfortable with Ivory, that'd be my choice.

The reason I'll disagree about Bowe is because Eli can throw the deep ball, Alex Smith cannot. Arrowhead is not Cowboys Stadium, or whatever it is. Cowboys secondary is pretty decent and it's tough to convey last weeks Giants stats to this weeks Chiefs stats.

I'd go with Mike Williams as well. Coin flip decision take the guy playing in a dome.

So who's your alternative to Ivory? Because I wouldn't be starting him this week, that's for sure.

Giants WR's had a TON of YAC which had more to do with beating coverage and catching the ball in space then it does catching 50yd bombs because the QB can throw it really far. .. something the Andy Reid's system excels in..

But it's all moot since Joe listed options from the wrong league. . Say it ain't so Joe!!

The MMBRL team. Alternates are Olsen @ BUF; Da'Rel Scott vs DEN; Kendall Hunter @SEA; or Greene @ HOU (and Greene is "P").

Thanks for the input guys. Sorry about the bench faux pas. Think I'm gonna roll with Ivory.

Yowsa. I'd love to be able to steer you away from Ivory, but I don't know how with those options.

I wasn't aware we could put a TE in our flex...

That's what I would do if I were you Joe.
