bad attitude... teammates and coaches questioned his work ethic...

and I am not surprised one bit. One of my least favorite redskins and I was glad to see him go. Bad attitude

he was also the most annoying person on hard knocks by a fair amount.

Was this a rare good move by Bruce not to meet Bakers demands and sign Stacey and Mcclain instead?

Shark - remember I told you a while ago that the Bucs might release Baker (he was not getting along w/ the team) & you believed at that time that no way this would happen. You never know in the NFL & I would still wonder if the Skins would consider bringing him back - he didn't have chemistry issues w/ the Skins & I don't recall him being that bad unlike Skins2021 (maybe I am not recalling things that well).

his play was okay. I never liked him or his attitude. I kinda felt that he didnt bring "winning chemistry" to the team. Was more into self promoting and it showed on the field.

arguing with coaches. I also felt like he was out of shape and didnt put the work in.

I mean...do you have anything to back any of those claims up?

Many of us were against bringing back Baker b/c of these reasons. I remember when shark and skinsdad blasted Allen for signing the mac boys instead of resigning Baker. They were talking about its the same money why not bring him back. Well now there was good reason not to bring him back. God forbid they will give Bruce Allen credit on this one.

I was hoping we could move on from McGee & McClain this off season. While McGee was the better run stopper of the two, I would prefer an upgrade through FA and the draft. Preferably DL at #13.

I think Vea is possible at #13

"Many of us"? I don't recall that but maybe you are correct, but I wasn't one of them. I liked Baker & would still not be against giving him another chance. It seems to me that his main issues in TB were getting along with his teammates & I don't believe that was ever an issue w/ the Redskins.

I do not think Mcgee is that bad. He was pretty good in Oakland as well. The knock on him was being able to stay healthy which surprisingly he did for us last season. I think he is a very solid #4 in a 3 man front.

This is utterly insane that I have to do this.

1) Shows up coach Joe Barry on the sideline
https://www.washingtonpost.com/news...-concerned-extra-beef/?utm_term=.38666aa3aeaf

2) Baker lobbying for the skins to sign/resign his ineffective best friend... showing up the front office
https://www.washingtonpost.com/news...rance-knighton-in-d-c/?utm_term=.de0f1d9d9d5d

3) Baker work ethic and effort questioned in washington and in tampa bay
Debate continues on new Bucs DT Chris Baker’s work ethic

and

"Few will argue that the Redskins decision not to retain the player many considered to be their most disruptive defensive lineman was a bit curious, but according to Mike Jones of the Washington Post, the Redskins were never sure what they were going to get from Baker.

“Chris Baker was popular with the fans because of his personality, but Redskins coaches, officials and even some teammates were just lukewarm on him,’’ Jones wrote in his answer to a fan’s question regarding Baker’s departure."

“The (Redskins) talent evaluators and coaches weren’t always happy with Baker’s work ethic, and they felt like he needed to make more of a consistent impact … and (hope) Terrell McClain represents an upgrade over Baker.’’

4) It use to drive me crazy but I remember a few instances where Baker would be cheerful and happy after a loss. Probably because he individually had a good game. Same attitude in TB.
Bucs Chris Baker smiling after the game and his big encroachment penalty led to scuffle in the locker room

5) Self Promoting..... "Swaggy", dancing after TFL or sacks despite score, and his embarrassing desperation to get in front of cameras during Hard Knocks with TB

6) Outspoken and controversial... just added bullshit. There isnt an NFL issue, political, or social issue that he doesnt weigh in on with Twitter. Skins have enough problems and outside distractions they dont need another one from a player who is average but thinks hes JJ Watt.

so yeah.... I dont like chris baker and was glad to see him go.... surprising that a guy who started off as an UDFA and took awhile to get playing time lacks humility.

Don't have access to the first 2 but they seem like nothing burgers based on your description and the titles. 3rd one is interesting but he was still a very effective player here and certainly not some cancer on the team.

4 - not great but happened in TB

5 - oh no!! He had a nickname and liked to dance!! Hide the kids!! What are you, 80 years old?

6 - oh no!! He had opinions on things! Like a normal person!! How dare he!!

Francois thing - so? Was he wrong? And he had good reason to say that.

So THAT'S why I can't convince you of anything. Interesting.

I made statements about Baker and why I dont care for him based of many events that have happened that were A) previously written about B) witnessed by just following and watching the team play

you have a snarky response and claim that you need evidence, which I didnt originally provide because I was under the stupid assumption that everyone posting here follows the redskins closely and knows most of their ins and outs.

I provide list with links... you have another snarky response and "dont buy it"

soooo yeah

I don't buy it because half of your criticisms were moronic. The other half weren't the end of the world. *shrug* make a better argument if you want me to agree with you next time.
