Saint John beat Lewiston 4-1. Huberdeau with 1 goal. Kabanov had the only goal for Lewiston.

Missiissauga beat Niagara 3-2 in OT. Cizikas had an assist on the game winner.

Can someone give me a scouting report on Ryan Strome & Dougie Hamilton? On an Isles board a bunch of people are acting as if the Isles have already drafted Hamilton. I don't know if it's the name Dougie or his size 6'4 or what, but it's very annoying.

With a win the Chiefs can bring home a 2-0 series lead against the Winterhawks in the Western Conference Finals. Even if they don't get a win, pulling off the split is a big deal IMO. Coming home 2-0 would just be icing on the cake.

Get it done Chiefs!

Here are some highlights from that game. The Kabanov goal starts at about 3:30 but he appears several times in these highlights. Not shown in these highlights is a nasty hit from behind that Huberdeau took which resulted in a 5 minute major which was pretty much the difference in the game. The Sea Dogs scored 3 times during that 5 min PP, including Huberdeau's goal.

Sweet highlights thanks.

Portland beat Spokane 2-1. Nino with 1 assist. The shots were even tonight. 36-35 Portland. The series goes to Spokane tied 1-1.

Much better game from Portland yesterday night. The series is about what I expected so far, well actually I did expect more than 6 goals to be scored. Reid has been fabulous for Spokane so far and to his credit, Carruth has been excellent for the Hawks as well.

IMO, if the Isles picked Hamilton they'd be very happy. Not many guys who are 6'4 can skate like Doug Hamilton. His game is well-rounded. He will almost certainly be a top pairing guy for a good NHL team. To me he will end up being what everyone thought Bouwmeester would be. I think Hamilton will be better than JayBO though.

As for Strome: he looks really skilled. He has the hands to be be a very good scorer as a pro. To me I wonder if he'll ever have the combination of size and speed to fight his way through tight checking. Because of this I would project him, ultimately, as a good 2nd center.

I think Hamilton has a much higher ceiling than Strome. If both are available the Isles should pick Hamilton. A future top 3 on D of De Haan, Hamonic and Hamilton would be great.

Sorry about the lottery. How has Murray taken the drop from 5 to 6? Any chance he tries to trade up?

Sorry about the lottery. How has Murray taken the drop from 5 to 6? Any chance he tries to trade up?

There is some talk that he might try to move up. I, for one, hope that he doesn't. After RNH and Larsson (and maybe Landeskog) the next 6-8 picks are pretty up in the air. I hope he just takes the best player that falls to number 6.

What I wouldn't mind seeing is the Sens trying to move the Nashville pick up into the mid to low teens. There are going to be some real steals in the 10-16 range, IMO. Someone in the CSS top 10 is going to drop and it should be possible to get a top flight player in the middle of the first round.

I'd also be happy if Murray just picks where we are. This draft looks light on superstars but quite deep in guys who could become really good players.

For the first time in a long time I'm really following this draft class. It's not the playoffs but it's exciting nonetheless.

Well it's all over but the crying for the Tigers after a 3-1 loss tonight to go down 3-0 in the series. Kootenay is just been playing great and the Tigers look they're out of gas.

Sorry Dash. Kootenay's just been playing unbelievable hockey lately. I'm not sure if Spokane or Portland can stop them either.

Tigers are a pretty young team though. They're looking good again for next season. And who knows, maybe they can take the next game or two and at least make the series interesting.

Max Reinhart of the Kootenay Ice got 5 goals against the Tigers tonight.
7-2 in the 3rd so far. (sorry dash)

Oh well, the good news is Reinhart is a Calgary Flames draft pick. Tigers put together another fine season, just ran into a buzzsaw in Kootenay.

That's a solid list. Since the top 8 could go in any order is their one guy you want Murray to take above the others?

AT the 6 spot I'm praying for either Hamilton (despite our insane pool of D prospects) or Couturier.

Portland beats Spokane 3-2 in OT in game 3 tonight. It's one of those games I talked about where Spokane was better but it still wasn't enough to overcome Portland's talent. Of course when Peters and Leipsic get 2 goals against you that's not good. Portland's got too much top end talent to let those guys get goals.

This was a backbreaking loss for the Chiefs. It wouldn't shock me at all if Portland closes this series out in 5. I hate to say that I've lost faith, but this series against Portland is just way too similar to the one they played last season.

It's funny you mention Hamilton because on the Isles fan site I frequent there are lots of fans who are crazy about him.

They're acting as if the Islanders have already drafted him. Yet they have no idea what Garth is going to do. Then again nobody does. That info is guarded like Fort Knox.

They say stuff like at the Draft Party we're going to be doing the DOUGIE. Is there some kind of dance I don't know about?

The way they're acting one would believe they're talking about the next Potvin.

It's ridiculous.:L
