Kootenay was dominant in every game, full marks to the Ice for the sweep of the Blades. The Tigers missed out on a sweep of Red Deer losing tonight 1-0. Oh well, they still lead the series 3-1. RNH is still waiting to record his first point of this series.

Funny that Kuemper is out and that's the game that Red Deer pitches a shutout. Go figure.

Pretty shocking what the Ice did to the Blades. Saskatoon goes out in typical Blades fashion I guess though. Oldest standing CHL team without a championship of any kind.

In other news, the Oil signed Tyler Pitlick to an entry level contract on Wednesday...He definitely looks like he will be a solid NHL player down the road.

I know I'm the resident Q guy and not usually a WHL guy but Saskatoon has been swept! :thumb:

In the Q Jonathan Huberdeau scored in OT to give the Sea Dogs a 3-1 series lead over the Tigres.

Kirill Kabanov scores 2 goals to lead the Maineiacs to a 4-1 victory and a surprising 3-1 series lead over the #2 seeded Montreal Junior.

Quebec Remparts take a 3-1 series lead over Shawinigan.

In a series that has seen the hometeam win every game Gatineau defeats Drummondville to tie the series at 2. For those who don't know, Gatineau is right across the provincial border from Ottawa. With the Sens now having the 6th pick and Couturier ranked right around that spot, I wouldn't be surprised if quite a few of the Sens staff (including coaches, GM etc. not just regular scouts) took in this game. If so, they might not have liked what they saw. Couturier was a team worst -4 with no points.

Way to go Kabanov. I really hope the kid pans out. Especially since so many teams took him off their draft boards.

Huberdeau looks like he's climbing the rankings with his great playoff performance thus far.

Nino had 3 assists last night as Portland won game 4 & have a 3-1 series lead against Kelowna.

Nino has 17 points in 8 games & is tied for second in playoff scoring in the Dub only behind Linden Vey by 1 point but has played fewer games.

Portland - Spokane looks like it's going to be a heck of a series (provided both teams do the BTO and continue takin' care of business).

I guess Portland dominated the game, but Kelowna won in OT 2-1. Nino had 1G. Portland leads the series 3-2.

Kabanov had 1G 2A but Lewiston lost 5-4 in double OT. Lewiston leads the series 3-2.

I really hope Lewiston can complete the upset tomorrow on home ice. If they do then they will face the Sea Dogs in round 3. I'm really hoping to see that series.

Sea Dogs came back from being down 2-0 early to win 3-2 and take the series in 5 games. The top line of Jonathan Huberdeau (2A), Zack Phillips (2G) and Stanislav Galiev (1G,1A) accounted for all the scoring. Huberdeau and Phillips were each a +2 while Galiev was a +3. Here are some highlights from TSN's french sister station:
RDS.ca - LHJMQ

Meanwhile Sean Couturier scores the only goal for Drummondville in a 5-1 loss at home as they lose their 3rd straight to Gatineau and now trail 3-2. Despite the goal Couturier was a -2.

Shawinigan keeps their season alive by winning 4-3 in OT in Quebec. They now trail 3-2 coming home for game 6.

Louie Lams was at the previous Sea Dogs game. I assume he was watching Huberdeau. Any idea if he or any other GM was at last nights game?

I have a good feeling about Kabanov right now. He just might prove all thos so called experts wrong.

Yeah I'm pretty sure he was there to watch Huberdeau now that they have the #4 pick. I heard a few other GMs were in attendance. Columbus being at least 1 of them. The Sea Dogs have 4 possible 1st rounders in Huberdeau, Nathan Beaulieu, Zack Phillips, and Tomas Jurco so regardless of where a team is picking there could be 1 or more players that peak their interest. Also the young Tigres goalie David Honzik has been drawing a lot of interest. He was basically the sole reason they won 5 playoff games.

You should be excited about Kabanov. I think being traded from Moncton was the best thing that could have happened to him. From what I hear most of the problems he had in Moncton were because of a conflict between his father and Wildcats' coach Danny Flynn. They had promised Kabanov and his family the world to lure him there. But while he was injured they loaded up on older more experienced talent and when he came back from his injury he was bumped to the bottom 2 lines 17 year olds often are. A fresh start in Lewiston as an 18 year old with more icetime is exactly what he needed. I think he will prove to be a 3rd round steal for the Isles.

Medicine Hat comes back from a 4-1 3rd period deficit to force OT then wins 5-4 in the extra period.

Congrats Dash! Kootenay/Medicine Hat should be an awesome series.

woot!! I came here to post the above. The Tigers were getting shafted by the zebras tonight, but rallied for the win. Kootenay scares me with how well they have been playing, Tyler Bunz will have to be stellar.

Huge game 5 in the Spokane/Tri-City series tonight as the winner will take a 3-2 lead. Tri-City beat Spokane in game four 4-3 in double overtime. Although Spokane has home ice, the game will be played in Kennewick to due other events in the Spokane Arena this weekend. Games 6 and 7, if necessary, will be played in Spokane.

Get it done Chiefs!

Well the 3 the final 4 have now been determined.

Lewiston completes the upset over the Montreal Juniors and take the series 4-2. Mr. Kabanov had 2 assists in that one. They'll now take on my Sea Dogs beginning on Friday so I'll be able to do some 1st hand scouting of Kabanov for your Isles. ;) The question now becomes what happens with Louis Leblanc? Will he join the Habs in their series against Boston? Or does he join Hamilton (assuming they are still alive in the AHL)?

Gatineau won its 4th straight against Drummondville to take their series 4-2, ending Sean Couturier's season and perhaps his entire junior career. They now await the winner of the Quebec Remparts and Shawinigan Cataractes. Shawinigan won tonight to force a 7th game.
