The Buffalo Sabres look like they have another quality defenseman in Brayden McNabb...He went coast-to-coast on a solo effort tonight against Saskatoon and it was a beautiful goal.

Kootenay leads 2-0 after 40 minutes.

They lead the series by that same margin, correct?

Kabanov has been playing well for the Maineiacs Isles. He didn't get any points in the 1st 3 playoff games but has since scored 9 points in his next 5 games.

Both the Tigers and Kootenay Ice take commanding 3-0 leads in their respective series tonight. Man, that Kootenay team is fast.

Flames draft pick Max Reinhart (son of former NHLer Paul Reinhart) is looking very good...

B Schenn could join the Kings in very short order.

That's great to see. He's been nominated for the Humanitarian award I believe as well. Has he really matured that much in 1 season?

Spokane dominates game 3 taking it 4-1 and ensuring that at the very worst the series will return to Spokane. Of course it would be sweet to see Spokane take the next 2 in the Tri-Cities as well and close up the series down there, but winning 3 straight in Tri-City is quite a lot to ask. Just gotta keep taking it one game at a time. Get it done Chiefs!

I don't think the language differentiates between regular and playoff games.
Dash or Mooger will be by to correct if I'm wrong though :)

I don't believe players are paid for playoff games. They've already received the money they were going to make for the season. Any bonus clauses that are reached for playoff round wins or the Stanley Cup count against next years cap like Toews last year with Chicago.

You're right. He was a runner-up for that award. It was awarded to someone else (forget who) last week. Since he got traded from Moncton to Lewiston I haven't heard of any off-ice shenanigans. That could be because Moncton is our closest and biggest rival and Lewiston isn't in our division anymore so I'd be less likely to hear about it. Also Lewiston is about half the distance to Long Island that Moncton is so it could be easier for the Isles to keep a close eye on him. In any event, it seems that trade has worked out well for him.

yes, that's true. playes are paid for regular season only.
in fact, all bonuses on entry level deals are cap-hit deferred until the next season. not just the playoff related bonuses.

but for games played to establish entry level contracts kicking in, I think games is games (no diff betw reg and playoffs).
he'll also still be a rookie, and eligible for the Calder next year, of course.

I know I'm the resident Q guy and not usually a WHL guy but Saskatoon has been swept! :thumb:

In the Q Jonathan Huberdeau scored in OT to give the Sea Dogs a 3-1 series lead over the Tigres.

Kirill Kabanov scores 2 goals to lead the Maineiacs to a 4-1 victory and a surprising 3-1 series lead over the #2 seeded Montreal Junior.

Quebec Remparts take a 3-1 series lead over Shawinigan.

In a series that has seen the hometeam win every game Gatineau defeats Drummondville to tie the series at 2. For those who don't know, Gatineau is right across the provincial border from Ottawa. With the Sens now having the 6th pick and Couturier ranked right around that spot, I wouldn't be surprised if quite a few of the Sens staff (including coaches, GM etc. not just regular scouts) took in this game. If so, they might not have liked what they saw. Couturier was a team worst -4 with no points.

Kootenay was dominant in every game, full marks to the Ice for the sweep of the Blades. The Tigers missed out on a sweep of Red Deer losing tonight 1-0. Oh well, they still lead the series 3-1. RNH is still waiting to record his first point of this series.
