B/c most of you guys feel to take huge risks on scoring no matter what the clock or timeout situation is. The clock mgt gaff maybe didnt cost us the game but it should of sent us to overtime.

Gruden has made these clock mgt gaffs before. This shouldn't surprise anyone. Actually Gruden's strength is play calling. I believe he is a better o coordinator than head coach. but when you look around the league their are a lot of bad head coached out there. SO im not too mad about Gruden being our head coach there are worst ones out there.

AS far as me personally. I could do a better job in the clock mgt part of the game. :)

So - as a head coach you would have no issue w/basically telling your defense "I have absolutely no faith that you can stop the other team". That would be what would be expressed with your philosophy.

Again - you are stating this after the fact & not in front of a hostile crowd & having to make split second decisions (ditto to a pt for Jon Gruden who no doubt made tons of coaching mistakes during his time in the NFL). Your response is always the high salary means that coaches and players should always be perfect.

You are starting to sound like Richard Sherman questioning Pete Carroll on a play made years ago. Will be very curious when you will actually let this go. Your statement about Gruden only being a good coordinator is a joke (& yet you were set to nominate Bruce Allen for GM of the year). You are pretty amusing.

Again with false statements on Allen. You are a madden football play caller just admit it. My way is safer and still had the opportunity to win the game. Im not alone in this thinking.

What? Madden type football has no relation to NFL football & I have stated as much numerous times. I actually leave the game to the coaches - assuming that they prove to be somewhat competent & IMO Gruden has done so in the last several years (certainly way more than past failures like Zorn or Spurrier). Trust me - you made the statement after some FA moves (namely Pryor) that this was the FO of the year. I will give you the fact that the pickups of Brown & Swearinger are huge.

No, your way is less likely to yield victories.

plus the coaching pickups which you forget. everyone was excited about Pryor don't give me that bullshit. Well of course Grudne is better than those two not much of a competition if you ask me.

Yep...you play for the tie.

I said 100 times we still had a chance of a td if we pickup the first down. How is that playing for the tie?

for worst case scinero

Except it isn't worst case scenario. Everybody knows you are going to pass, so the pass rushers pin their ears back and go after the QB. This means there is a greater chance at a strip sack or an interception...perhaps a tipped ball. This also means the OL will have a greater chance of a false start or a holding penalty knocking us out of FG position. Am I correct?

Maybe TP should catch the damn ball.

situations exactly like that/this ... is why the locker room "should" have veterans with experience *cough(Garcon)*cough to help settle these kids down & help keep them focused

I guess Vernon Davis is that guy ?

& for the life of me .... I still want to call him Fred Davis, lol

YOu got to wonder how many ex NFL players are going to be mad as hell when they finally legalize weed in the next CBA. Cause you know its coming.

Can we change the subject somewhat and talk Defense for a moment? I for one was really frustrated with how many times both Smith & Kerrigan were sucked inside on running plays away from them that Hunt cut back and both became chasers. And the repeated off sides on PS, wtf! Those penalties kept KC drives alive. Jr was a non factor and while the plan appeared to be bringing pressure with a 4 man rush, Alex Smith had ample time to make his throws or off script runs that killed us multiple times.

Don't kill the messenger here as I thought the defense played well despite the multiple injuries but there were obvious self inflicted mistakes on defense that kept repeating themselves. Not the same defense I saw vs the Raiders but all fixable imo though.

Murphy will be back so where does he fit in or does he?

HTTR!

holding penalty bring us to the 30 and still in Fg range. There could of been a turnover on the 3rd down play too. I just felt the TO wasn't needed and taking a risky shot set us up for the Chiefs to have time left

1. our defense is vastly improved, and if they keep getting better we should be thrilled.

2. Murphy is on IR, so he wont be back until next year.. if we resign him.

I just thought their were some out of character plays and lack of discipline I didn't see the week before.

That's right, forgot about his injury, crap!
