Maybe Prince gets it going this series. He is 4 for 6 with 2 HR against Johnson and 4 of 8 with 2 HR against Paulino, though he has not had much success against Quintana, unlike Elvis, who is 2 of 4 with a HR.

I couldn't believe my eyes today. JP made contact 3 different times at the plate today and was productive twice. Things must be looking up.

Think he is 1 for his last 26 but got 2 big runs across today, as long as he's in there he has to keep making things happen. 2 balls he hit hard today one caught and one fielded nicely by the 2nd baseman and a good play was made. Sooner or later balls have to start falling in, right?

A couple good games should get him going I am hoping, he's got to be thinking what the heck is going on. He has to start thinking about shooting the ball the other way or taking it back up the middle as everything he's pulling to the right side is right at the 2nd baseman shaded towards first or on the grass towards first

DG keeps making game threads as long as he's hot.

I agree should be new rule just for fun. But this is the first time it worked. We were supposed to do it with revs the first time around vs the Phillies and I think we talked about some on the board jta created from the astro series as well. It will be tough to get everyone in on it. Guess just mentioning right after the game works best.

I think that's a good call... He should know the sox pretty well. His splits vs them last season were .289 with 4 hrs and 12 rbi. The year before he was .333 against them.

Oakland is playing Houston this weekend. Need 2 out of 3.

Houston will be fine against Oakland, you can't continue to dwell on what Oakland does vs everyone else. If Texas wins most series vs the A's we are good.

This from Sports Day in the DMN:

LHP Michael Kirkman struggled with his command again for Triple-A Round Rock. Kirkman walked four in the first inning, five for the game and was gone before the end of the third in a 14-1 loss to Omaha. Kirkman has walked eight in 5.2 innings as a starter this season. He may be tweaking his delivery some more, but he’s going backwards, not forwards at this point.

Over the last seven days, Moreland has a .294 batting average and .429 OBP. Moreland saw 22 pitches in four plate appearances on Thursday.

Thanks for sharing. Kirkman is a lost cause I fear. Great to see Moreland is picking it up. His OBP is encouraging.

The door is closing on Kirkman. Tanaka raised his avg up to 395. In fact their are a few hot hitters for RR right now with Tanaka, Petersen, Snyder, Nicholas and Bucholz.

I will tell you who else is hot since no one looks at the minor league thread. Gallo. He hit 5 HRs on a road trip and first series back at the tough to hit HRs in MB park hit his 6th and his average is up to 311. Funny thing is he has just 1 double. 433/733/1.167 OBP/SLG/OPS.

And by the way, Sam Wolff lowered his ERA to 0.98 for MB.

I look over there often.

In 45 AB's Gallo has 6 HR's, 12 BB's, 16 K's, and a .433 OBP seems to be getting better with the plate discipline though he still could lower the K's but he is HOT right now

I look when people post something

Thought about posting something Brinson the other day but didn't have time, he's pretty hot down in Hickory right now, Jairo Beras still looks like crap though

I noticed. That Hickory team is nowhere close in firepower of last years team.

One of the most encouraging things about Andrus' start is the 4 doubles, that extra base power was non-existent, he doesn't have to hit HRs if he's getting lots of doubles

He has definitely gotten off to a much better start this year than last. Last year he couldn't buy a hit and this season he's really looked good so far with the bat
