I'm a White Sox fan, so naturally I do not like the Cubs and spent my entire childhood clashing with Cubs fans. However, they undoubtedly have some true lifelong and die-hard fans who have been through it all over the years with this team. Many of them in my family and close friends.

I would not put that phrase in quotes, as to indicate sarcasm. Not in the least...
