In theory, yes. But it wasn't long ago that "Blue Chip" prospects like Joba Chamberlain, Lars Anderson and Mike Moustakas ruled those rankings. You think getting a David Price for one of those guys would work out for TB?

if the rays truly do fall out of the rays and are convinced re signing price is impossible(which it may very well be) they could trade for profar...but i still think texas would have to give them more than just profar

I agree on both counts. I doubt TB will pony up the $150M (guess) needed to sign Price long-term, so they will trade him at some point. But they are very methodical and smart and they won't rush. TEX would definitely have to give up more than Profar. I bet there are at least 10 teams that can afford Price, so the bidding will be strong.
