Turner, Smith to return

Wow thought turner might have coached his last game there. Also thought Smith might of been gone since he seems to rub people the wrong way. Curious about V. Jackson, his contract dispute didnt go over so well 2 seasons ago when he missed those game, with Smith coming back i wonder if jackson will stay. V. Jackson could be a big bodied WR we need.

Wow, yet Marty S gets canned after a 14-2 season and losing the AFC title gm..... Smith is a joke, sorry, i'm far from a Chargers fan but that act still gets me irritated....

I rather we go after Colston than VJ for my likings.

Bowe, VJ, or Colston, either one of the three will do.

Norv Turner is a HORRIBLE HC. Idk if any coach has gotten less out of more over a tenure of coaching then Norv. The teams of the early-mid 2000's were simply LOADED and yet nothing to show for it. Unbelievable that they are deciding to keep him. And although Smith did a good job building the team, his prickly personality/negotiating style has a lot to do with so many talented players resenting the organization and jumping ship at the first opportunity.

I couldn't believe it when they hired Norv, and I can't believe he's still in it. That team underperforms every year. Losing the AFC West this year was a joke. I could coach that team as well as Norv has. He's a great offensive mind, but a terrible, TERRIBLE HC. I wonder who he has pictures of?

I don't see why either one of these guys would deserve to be fired.

Norv Turner has proven he's a mediocre head coach and he'll get your team to either underachieve or choke in the playoffs. He does not hold players accountable for their actions.

AJ Smith has not done very well in recent drafts, with Larry English, Corey Liuget, Buster Davis, moving up to get Ryan Mathews who's shown signs but is injured alot and puts the ball on the ground alot. Also AJ Smith is fairly ruthless in contract negotiations with players. He can also be questioned about the players he's just let go for nothing over the years: Brees, Turner, Sproles, Rodney Harrison.

The Chargers ownership does not want to eat the cost of firing both of them (like $12M a year) plus they probably think that there's no guarantee they'll find a better replacement with all the competition out there.

You're mostly right about Norv IMO, but I think he's a little better than mediocre. I'd only fire him if an extremely exciting coach came along to replace him.

Norv is a great offensive co-ordinator. Chargers would be better off with a strict head coach with Norv as an offensive co-ordinator who's got full control of the offense.
