Championship or bust?...

I don't normally say stuff like this, but since Pelini decided to place ridiculous pressure on our team, I expect Nebraska to win a championship too this year. A Big title will do!

By the way, what's up with the Mocks running the ball on us? They have a young offensive line also. Wow! Not a good sign.

By the way, Ole Barn has had 4 years with our offensive line. Shouldn't we be seeing more consistent run blocking by now? I guarantee you we're going to see WAY better defensive teams than the team we're up against today.

Jesus Christ! I never said that! You mean you didn't see the point in my thread here? If Pelini is going to spout off, I'm going to hold him to it. Also, a 10 win season isn't going to happen this year With the blocking we have. We are going to get blasted this year unless our defense can practically shut everyone out.

By the way JJ, you're the one who said he expects a championship every year.

Another reason why I posted this thread is because this isn't the first time Pelini has boasted about something. Remember the statement, "we're going to be 10 times better on defense in 2010"? It's time to start seeing some real results.

I just can't sound the alarms yet, we won by 33. Many teams that played today were pretty out of sync, some lost or barely won. The coaches can evaluate where we are at after seeing them in real action.

I think what BO said was a "Championship is the goal every year. If we don't win a championship then the year is not a success." He went on to say after that the "Yes we can have a good year if we don't win a championship but that is always the goal and if we don't win a championship then it was not a success."

There is a difference between the year being a failure because we didn't win a championship and it was a good year but we still didn't reach our goal.

We were in lost in 2007 and Bo saved us. With that said, we are about winning National Championships. If we don't win a National Championship in the next few seasons or if we see any Holiday Bowl type performance again, then it will be justifiable to look for new blood. If Bo isn't destined to take us to the Promised Land, Bo will always have my respect and appreciation for leading us out from the dark side.

They had 60 yards rushing.......it was late in the 3rd quarter, or beginning of the 4th when I looked at the scoreboard and they had 23 at that point......

Did they televise a different game then the one I was at????

I'm not worried about our defense at this stage, but every Nebraska fan should be worried about that almost zero blocking offense. Keep in mind that we are going to play WAY better defensive teams than that from here on out. Ole Barn has had 3 years to build an offensive line, and it's high time we see better blocking especially against weak teams.

Vanilla offense is no excuse, we should have had better run production than to just see Martinez breaking some runs.

And to state my opinion. You have a short memory there tiger. You were complaining about our team too. Stop being a hypocrite.

I've been Nebraska fan since about 1968, and I've gone to and spent thousands of dollars going to games over the years. I have a right to be critical when it's warranted.

I don't think talking about championships puts any extra pressure on the players......I assume, and if I'm wrong I'd like any of them cut, that they all came to Nebraska in part to win championships.....I don't think great althletes will perform better if they think they aren't trying to win....

Don't you think last years Texas game was an example of the players having too much pressure placed on them? I think a lot of fans put too much pressure on our team for that game. Remember that stupid red out thingy? If Nebraska played loose in that game they would've won by 20 points or more. Texas was terrible last year.

Yes, unwarranted pressure on a bunch of college players especially, does have an impact. They have enough the way it is.

Also, talking about championships and saying it's championship or bust are two different things.
