Losing Love, Okwara & Gilman in a matter of minutes damn sure dampened any of our chances.

Those were key injuries and totally changed the complexion.

Sucked that lightning struck like that.
Not one lucky bounce on calls either. The TO that wasn’t on the kickoff.

Alize Mack’s non-fumble.

Too many mistakes not enough breaks.

Clemson is just a deeper and better team and sometimes you need those breaks.

But there won't be another team in ND's situation because every other team is in a conference. They get to sit on their asses while the other contenders are playing an extra game.

Sorry, but this is just a stale program that doesn't matchup. I get it, they were undefeated, can't really keep them out, but it would be nice to have teams that actually stand a chance in the playoffs.

We had games that proved we belonged there. Funny I don't hear those games come out of your mouth.

Good luck...

It’s better than your solution of adding more (relatively) shitty teams. I’d rather go back to the BCS than add more to the playoff.
Might as well if we keep getting semifinal games like this.

Would Notre Dame have won a quarterfinal in an 8 team playoff?

Depends on who we played.

There are too few teams in this format to know that the teams added would be “shitty.”

You think Georgia or Ohio State would not have done better than ND?
Ohio State no. Georgia yes. this year anyway.

No I say revert to the old system because this one is stupid. Put in a plus one system and only use a playoff if teams 2/3 are at a certain percentage. Because this system sucks and 8 would suck more. Adding games makes this worse not better. You think Michigan being in this playoffs would be an upgrade? You have no data, no proof, no evidence adding games makes it better. Your logic is, well derp more games better odds of better semi finals, and that is fricken stupid.

Georgia and Ohio State having a chance to get to the semis = good.

You have your opinion and it is impervious. Enjoy it.

What were they? Syracuse with a backup QB? A USC team that didn't even make a bowl game? A mediocre Stanford team?

I'm sorry, but anytime Notre Dame is in a big game like this, it's always just too predictable. They don't have the horses to keep up with the real big boys today.

At this point, I'm not even trolling, I'm just calling it like I see it.

Ohio State? The team that got drummed by Purpoo? The team that nearly lost to Nebraska and Maryland? Cool story bro.

Georgia would, Ohio State, maybe, probably not. They both earned their way out of a spot during the season, that’s the beauty of the whole thing.

I used to think 4 was enough and I was dead set against 8 teams.

I’ve changed my mind because the evidence is strong for expansion producing a better product.

Go back to the 80s style bowl system or have a REAL playoff. This half stepping shit isn’t working.

The only win that was borderline quality was Michigan and they are hot garbage.
