I'm so tired of waiting on the kids, and being so reserved with the worry of making a mistake. Let's just get this damn thing done! Like someone said in another thread, they need to have Junior there to greet his ass at the door. Come on Robbie, sign the damn thing!

FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal reports that the Mariners have made an offer to Robinson Cano, but it did not exceed $200 million.
Enrique Rojas of ESPN Deportes reported earlier Thursday that the Mariners were willing to offer Cano $230-240 million, but Rosenthal says that's not the case, at least not at this point. Cano asked Seattle for a 10-year, $240 million deal, but the M's apparently came back well below that number. The second baseman is currently on a plane to Seattle to meet with club officials. While it does certainly appear the Mariners are serious about their pursuit of Cano, it remains to be seen if they'll be able to outbid the Yankees. Dec 5 - 6:18 PM

Correct, and with Yankees still in the mix this trip by Cano is a round trip.

What are you talking about? The Yankees just said they hope to offer a similar offer.

6:45pm: The Mariners are "about to offer" Cano a nine-year, $225MM deal, CBS Sports' Jon Heyman reports. Heyman indicates that Seattle is bidding $225MM to stay $50MM ahead of the Yankees, whose don't want to top $175MM.

Cano asked for 240M, if true that he's offered 225M I think there's a chance he leaves Seattle with a contract. What's 15M when you have 225?

Sounds like nobody really knows what's going on, and hour and a half ago the M's wouldn't go over 200MM

The Yanks will not match $225 for 10 years. Not even close. Not with the Ellsbury and McCann signings.

They're out of the mix unless Cano decides he's willing to stay with a perennial contender for less money and a shorter contract.

Maybe so, but there needs to be a team to set the parameters.

And now it is reported $225M for 9 years.

So sick that I mentioned M's signing Cano (even if it was an obvious fit) and here we are...it may actually become a reality!!! They need to sign or acquire more pieces though. This needs to be the first move of many.
