Casting Books Game

So, you know how when you read a book, you picture the characters in your mind? Who do you picture for some major novel characters? I always find this discussions so fascinating:

Preston and Child Books
Agent Pendergast = Kyle Secor as Bayless from Homicide
Vincent D'Agosta = Tom Sizemore (played in movie too, so that explains it)

Jo Nesbo Books
Harry Hole = Dominic West

Clancy
Jack Ryan = I can't kick Harrison Ford
John Clark = Liev Schrieber
Deng Chavez = Benjamin Bratt


Some other Randoms

(interesting sidenote here, Sean Bean was one of the Irish terrorists in my head when I was reading Patriot Games but the opposite terrorist when I watched the movie, it totally fucked with me)

Kurt Wallender = Vincent D'Onofrio as Robert Goren basically

Mitch Rapp = Eric Bana

John Corey = Bruce Willis back when he had hair

Jack Reacher (didn't read many and din't like the books) = Tom Hardy



I am sure I will think of more as the thread continues. Generally i am reading two books at any time, one non-fiction where i take notes and take seriously and one fun fiction book that I read before bed etc. I probably read 50-60 books a year at least. I love it.

There was a decent book thread a couple months ago if you wanted to find it, I think its H2S that is a big fiction guy.

I'm no fun - I read about 99% non-fiction. I read one Tom Clancy book probably 15 years ago, The Bear and the Dragon. Remember it being pretty good. For some reason I always pictured Jack Ryan as Harrison Ford too.....

I do really like the Grisham books. The last one I read was The Testament which was awesome.
